Privacy policy.
This page explains what information Alumniyat collects when you visit alumniyat.com, why we collect it, who else sees it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Alumniyat ("Alumniyat", "we", "our", or "us") is a small editorial studio that publishes free utility tools at alumniyat.com. We are a US-registered business based in California. For any privacy-related question, you can reach us at support@alumniyat.com or via the form on our contact page.
The short version
- We don't ask you to create an account.
- We don't sell your personal information to anyone, ever.
- We do use Google Analytics and Plausible to understand traffic patterns, and Google AdSense to show contextual ads. Each of those uses cookies or similar technologies. You can opt out.
- If you write to us through a contact form, we save your name, email, and message so we can reply.
- You have the right to ask what we know about you, ask us to delete it, or opt out of being included in our analytics.
What we collect — and why
Contact form submissions
When you fill out the form on our homepage or contact page, we collect the name, email address, phone (if you choose to provide it), subject, and the body of your message. We collect this only so we can read your message and reply. These submissions are saved as plain text files on our server and are not used for marketing.
Analytics
We use two analytics services to understand which tools are being used and where visitors come from:
- Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics service. It records aggregate, anonymous data about page views and traffic sources. It does not set any cookie on your browser. (Plausible's privacy notice.)
- Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js, property G-DT75S558C7) — uses cookies to measure user interaction across the site. (Google's privacy policy.) You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
Advertising
Alumniyat is supported by display advertising served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-0918156800001396) and, in the future, may use other third-party advertising partners. The following disclosures are required of any site running Google AdSense:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info or networkadvertising.org.
- If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's consent management partner will surface a consent banner before any personalized advertising cookie is set.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs that include IP addresses, user agents, and request paths. These are used solely for security and operational diagnostics and are not combined with any personally identifying data we collect.
Cookies
Cookies are small files that a website may place on your device. Alumniyat itself does not set any cookies of its own. The cookies you may see on this site come from:
- Google Analytics — _ga, _gid, and related cookies, used to distinguish unique visitors.
- Google AdSense and its advertising partners — including the DoubleClick DART cookie, used to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies may affect the relevance of ads you see; it will not affect your ability to use the tools.
Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent the information you provide. We share information only:
- With the analytics and advertising vendors listed above, strictly to operate the services described.
- When required by law — for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order issued by a US court of competent jurisdiction.
- To protect rights and safety — to prevent fraud, abuse, or harm to the site or its users.
How long we keep your information
Contact-form messages are retained for up to two years from the date received unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Analytics data is retained for the periods set by each vendor (Google Analytics: configurable retention; Plausible: aggregate metrics only).
Your rights
Your California rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, the right to request deletion of that information, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Alumniyat does not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email support@alumniyat.com from the address you used on the form.
Your EU / UK / Swiss rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection over your personal data. The lawful bases on which we process your data are your consent (analytics and personalized advertising cookies), our legitimate interests (security logs, replying to your messages), and our legal obligations.
Children
Alumniyat is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
