Why does motivational speech often fail? On the Internet nowadays, there are hundreds of motivating speech videos.
Inspirational music is usually playing in the background, while a guy or woman gives a speech with a good attitude.
And, yeah, they do a fantastic job of boosting people’s motivation.
Why does motivational speech often fail?
Motivation, on the other hand, is only a feeling.
And, like all feelings, they pass quickly. You could sense a strong desire to accomplish something one day. The following day, you’re back to your old self and no longer want to do that activity.
Only two motivational videos out of the many I’ve listened to have energized me and, more significantly, get me into the habit of doing things I’d been putting off.
The first video was created by Ben Settle, the master email copywriter. He was explaining why he rejects “product addict” consumers, or those who purchase new information goods for the dopamine thrill but never use what they learn. I ended up watching this 16-minute movie three times, which jolted me out of my stupor and motivated me to start emailing on a regular basis.
The second film was created by none other than David Neagle, a well-known business and attitude coach.
He described how he handled sales calls in the past in his video.
He used to conduct sales calls depending on time zones when he was the sole employee in his company.
He’d start making sales calls to folks in Europe at 5 a.m., then work his way back through the United States until he reached Australia. He’d talk on the phone till two a.m. on occasion.
That tale alone made me reflect and motivated me to be more active in marketing my copywriting skills.
So, what were the similarities and differences between these two motivational films, and why did they work for me? There was no motivational music playing. There was no such thing as a positive speech.
Quite the contrary, in fact.
Both of those videos were very honest (Some people might even say they were trying to shame you). They were so direct that they made me reconsider my existing methods and if I might be doing more.
I haven’t seen David Neagle’s videos in a long time. And when I went to check in with him one day, I stumbled upon that one video I wanted to see.
As a result, I am confident in stating that he is the best business and attitude coach living today.
You alter your life and the lives of others when you demonstrate bravery in the face of hardship.
People who refuse to settle for mediocre and have overcome hardship are the most provocative in the world. People who have overcome adversity and never, ever give up inspire us the most.
Luck is wonderful, but the majority of life is a struggle. Sometimes the only way out of stress is to confront the battle of overcoming life’s problems. The struggle is often used to teach us a lesson. We may either accept or reject that lesson.
The basic function of the human intellect, from an evolutionary standpoint, is to keep you safe. It’s often simpler to remain in your comfort zone and avoid danger, which leads to self-sabotage. Great achievements, on the other hand, never arise from mediocrity. Instead of settling for mediocrity, go for greatness.
Persist in persuading people of the validity of your intentions. You are the only one who can accomplish it. Nobody will be able to stop us from achieving our goals.
The obvious is something that most individuals can do; you’re developing something that wasn’t there before. It’s daring, it’s lovely, and it’s you.
The majority of individuals wish to modify at least one aspect of their lives. However, finding the enthusiasm to get started might be difficult. It is vital to understand what motivation means to you in order to develop your own motivational strategies.
