Beginning of the novel
Murphy is prisoned for a rape case in a farm prison and was brought to a mental institution to be examined and proved the truth of his insanity emerges.
Nurse Ratched was responsible for the Disturbed ward. She was serious and had a difficult character with patients with whom she used electroshock therapy.
The conflict between Randall Patrick McMurphy and Martin Ratched is increasing, affecting all ward patients.
