It’s as Simple as Saying Thank You
How many times have you said thank you today? I don’t just mean expressing your gratitude towards anyone who opens a door for you or giving up their seat on the train for you. It goes without saying we should say thanks for this type of goodwill gesture.
The gratitude I am talking about is the thanks we give every day for what we have, no matter how big or small. You may have a poorly paid job or a car that is hanging on for dear life. You could live in a house that could barely fit a cat, let alone swing one around.
It doesn’t matter how little you have in life or how bad you see your life right now. Being grateful for what you do have can have an enormous impact on your life and can shape the rest of it in ways you never thought possible.
Gratitude Can and Will Change Your Life Beyond Your Wildest Dreams
It really can. And it’s so simple, which is why most people brush it aside, believing that something so simple can never work. People as a whole like to complicate things. They believe that if something is going to transform their lives so dramatically, it must take endless hours of arduous work.
None of us is meant to struggle in life, scraping a living, or in relationships that are abusive or loveless. Everything we want in life is ours if we just accept it. The new house, new car, better-paid job, or that perfect relationship. If it sounds as if I am straying away from gratitude a little, it’s because I am.
Practicing gratitude daily can change any part of your life, and when combined with manifestation techniques, the results can be mind-blowing. By being thankful for what you already have and concentrating on what you really want will bring a tornado of benefits into your life.
Stop Complaining About the Things You Lack.
Concentrate and focus your mind on what you want and not what you lack. Our thoughts create our reality. Let that statement sink in for a second. What we think often manifests. Now you might be saying to yourself, “I often think about being rich and having a nice big house, but it never manifests.”
The trouble is, I bet you spend more time worrying about having little or no money and concentrating on all the other negative aspects of your life than you do on the things you want.
Positive thoughts get swamped by their opposites every day. The more you concentrate and focus on what you lack in life, the more you attract. How often do you say, “I’m sick of having no money?” Or “I hate my job.”
By complaining about not having any money or being in a job, you dislike will only attract more of what you don’t want. In this case, your lack of money will continue, and your job will not get any better. In fact, the chances are both situations are likely to get worse.
Change the Habits of a Lifetime
It’s never too late to change the way you think and how you go about your daily life in such a way that it can take a dramatic and beneficial shift. So, without further ado, it’s time to get down to the business of what you’ll need to do to get what you want out of life. And more importantly, be happy.
Don’t Be Fooled by its Simplicity
It’s around this point that many people stop reading as it seems too simple to be true. But hang on in there, and believe me, it will be worth it. And anyway, let’s face it, all this information is free. It’s not as if I’m trying to persuade you to part with any money for a book or CD.
All it will take for you to change your life forever is belief and around 20 minutes in the morning and the same at night. I don’t include the time spent practicing gratitude throughout the day as this will, over a short time, become so natural you will do it automatically without even thinking about it.
Gratitude Day and Night Routine
The practice that I use is split into two parts. The first part I call thank you, and it takes place every morning when I wake up. The second part, I call grateful. You can call it what you like. I do this part at night before I go to sleep.
All you will need for your gratitude routines are two books that you can write in. Why to write and not just speak aloud, you may ask. There are several reasons for this. Firstly, when you want to manifest the things you want, by writing them down, you are not only asking on a physical level, but you’re also utilizing your higher self or consciousness to give you the answers.
Say Thanks the Moment You Wake
As soon as you wake in the morning, give thanks. You can say whatever you wish. Personally, I use the words, “Thank you for waking up this morning. Thank you for a new day. Thank you for being alive.” Once I have given thanks for a new day, I grab my thank you book and begin writing.
The thank-you book works by giving thanks for the things I want to happen during the day. I’m not paying gratitude for anything that, as already happened, comes later. What I am doing now is being grateful for what I expect to happen. You can word it how you want but always start with thank you.
For instance, you may work in an environment that can sometimes be dangerous or unpredictable. A police officer or nurse. In this case, I would write something like, “Thank you for my day at work today running smoothly and without serious incident.”
Or you run your own business, a shop, for instance. Obviously, the more customers coming into your shop results in more money going through the tills. So, for this scenario, I would say something like. “Thank you for the huge amount of paying customers I had come into the shop today.
After each of these I write, I write to thank you three times at the end of each one. You can say thank you for whatever you like. Say thank you for the unexpected money you received today. I have had some incredible results with this one.
You could have a job that needs doing today that may cause you some issues. It could be tricky and may take more time than you want to spend on it. In this case, say, “Thank you for the ease and speed at which I accomplished (whatever the job is) today. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
You can say thanks for whatever you want to happen during the day
Remember, our thoughts create our reality. You are giving thanks for things that have not yet happened. By writing them down and then reading them out, you can create the ideal day for yourself. It may sound simple. And it is. Yet, it is extremely effective.
The nighttime routine involves giving thanks to things that have happened during the day. You would grab your gratitude book and write down five things that have happened to you during your day and give thanks for them. It doesn’t have to be five, but it is the number I use.
I begin my wiring in this section by saying, “I am so happy and grateful now that………and I continue with what I am grateful for. It could be anything. A compliment from your boss. Unexpected money that came your way. Your paycheck. Even though it may be small, and you get it regularly, be grateful for it.
Remember, over time, being continually grateful for what you have will result in huge improvements in your life. You can be grateful for anything, big or small. It doesn’t matter. It’s the fact that you are showing gratitude that counts.
Double the Power of Thank You
Combine the above daily rituals with daily visualization techniques, and you will have a powerful set of tools at your disposal. Visualize as though your desire has already occurred. If it’s a bigger house you want or a better job, or a win on the lotto, see the event as though it has already happened.
See yourself in that new house with all the lovely furnishings. Then, see yourself at work in your new job conducting all the things that your job entails. See yourself spending the money you won on the lotto. Visualize yourself on the phone telling people of your win.
I always visualize in the first person
What I mean by this is, I don’t see myself as though I am in a movie. I am the main character acting out the life I desire. You can, of course, choose to see yourself in the movie if you so wish. It’s entirely up to you.
It suits me better playing the leading role as I find it easier to feel emotions during my visualization periods. Feeling emotion during your visualization is important. Don’t just see yourself or be yourself. Feel what is going on within your movie. Feel happiness and gratitude for all the money you have, the job you love, and the new house.
When and how often you practice visualizing your desires or goals is entirely up to you, I would do it at least 10 minutes a day. I prefer to do it in the morning as I’m more alert, although it doesn’t matter if you do it last thing and fall asleep while doing it.
Well, there you are. As I said previously, it is so simple, but do not let this fool you. Don’t overcomplicate your life, and don’t make the mistake that you will never have the things you want in life. If you think that way, the likelihood is exactly what you will get from life, very little.
