Who would have thought that this school year would be something like this? We did not see it coming, it shocked us, and to be honest, we are not fully ready for this! But here we are right now, with all the modules and online classes we have to deal with. Whether we like it or not, we must fit in, in order to survive – but how?
Adapt to the changes. Have you ever heard the concept of adaptation in science? It is about how organisms adapt to new environments in order to live. All the paperwork, all the deadlines plus all the distractions are actually too much to handle but to survive all these, we must accept that this is the reality and we must bite the bullet and deal with it. Adapt to the modular and online classes! Our complaints will do nothing about it; they will not accomplish our activities! But coming to our senses will help us realize that doing more instead of overthinking more is better.
Get help from the internet. Because of the internet, browsing Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok is now a daily habit for most. Watching prank vlogs and doing vlogs are also a trend and it is okay. Since the whole world is now accessible in one click, why don’t we try to follow educational pages so they will pop on our news feed? Or watch educational vlogs that will introduce us to the world we do not know? Or download educational applications? – In these ways, we are learning with the internet and not using it for entertainment purposes only. If we love music, we do not just play a song on Spotify, we also watch tutorial videos on how to play guitar. The internet has so much more to offer if only we use it for better purposes.
Learn to divide the 24 hours. There must be justice in dividing our 24 hours! We need the right amount of sleep, a time for a short exercise, a slice for household chores, a time for our modules and online classes, and a time for our hobbies. If writing a daily plan is effective, then do it. The truth is, we have our own style of accomplishing our tasks and dividing our time, it is just about giving justice to it!
Pray. When we are stressed and tired, we offer them all to God. Pause and pray, and then stand and fight again. Remember that “it is not in never falling but in rising every time you fall”.To survive a school year this pandemic is never easy but it is possible! Why not consider these simple things about fitting in our new normal and wonder tomorrow: who would have thought that we survived a school year that is something like this?
