When it comes to food and losing weight, we immediately think of cutting off portions, eating less, and substituting categories of food.
Thus, the general view of a diet has been evolved throughout the centuries, and instead of calling it a “restrictive diet” nowadays it’s being named as “lifestyle”.
Because the mentality of someone depriving themselves of the most essential thing can be destructive and harmful.
Instead, switching “lifestyles” can be easier and less harmful.
By adopting an “I can eat anything I want, in MODERATION” mindset.
We all have cravings, we all want flavorful food and we all want to lose weight, but that doesn’t mean we have to stop eating our favorite pasta dish or our favorite dessert.
Moderation is the best way to eating anything your body wants, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and still losing weight, all that while feeling happy and free!
As an example of a day of eating in moderation:
Boiled eggs, veggies, toast, and a muffin
Any seasonal fruit you have
Pizza or any homemade dish with a side salad
Peanut butter and a banana or an apple
Fulfilling veggie and chicken salad with a cookie
Some days you might feel like having extra cookies, meanwhile other days you don’t feel like eating any sweets.
It’s all about moderation and listening to your own body.
Some might find it funny to “listen to our body”, but once we understand that our bodies are not machines, we understand the effect of listening to our bodies.
From personal experience, this lifestyle has changed my view towards food and I still managed to lose weight while eating my favorite food, restriction-free.
It’s not easy to let go of our old beliefs to losing weight.
I think it’s time we let go of them and start loving ourselves and eating whatever our body feels like eating.
