Creative Bookmarks : Travel collections are return tickets to moments we don’t want to forget. I have different travel collections but the one I take very seriously is Bookmarks!
I love reading books, and bookmarks add a lot of excitement to my reading journey. Also, they are small and light and I don’t have to worry about extra space or weight.
For those who don’t know, bookmarks are used by readers to mark where they stopped reading. The first bookmark was given to Queen Elizabeth 1 by her printer as per the articles I read.
Nowadays bookmarks come in different sizes, shapes, and materials, and among the many bookmarks, I collected there are these unique bookmarks that I love to share with you.
1. Fabric Bookmark, Switzerland
I brought this embroidered fabric bookmark from Switzerland. What I loved the most about is the texture of the fabric. The colors and the flowers are beautiful as well.
2. Leather Bookmark, Italy
The oldest bookmarks were made of leather and these bookmarks are common in Italy. I’ve got the below bookmarks one from Venice and another one from Florence as well. I loved these bookmarks, they are fancy and elegant.

3. Wooden Tulip Bookmark, Holland
How amazing is this flower bookmark?! We were at the airport in Amsterdam, my friend bought tulips’ seeds and I bought this tulip that makes my heart happy while I read.
4. Ruler Bookmark, Santorini
This bookmark is made of paper with a simple Santorini photo and a drawn ruler on the back. When I bought it I didn’t think that I would use it one day, but believe it or not I don’t have a ruler since my school years.
5. Oriental Rug Bookmark, Jordan
This bookmark is common in different countries. I have 3 similar oriental rug bookmarks from Dubai, Egypt, and Istanbul. I love the pattern and how realistic this small piece is.

6. Shoe Bookmark, Belgrade
I couldn’t know this is a bookmark if I didn’t ask the lady in the shop. This bookmark represents the Opanak, traditional Serbian shoes made of leather and doesn’t have laces.
7. Wooden Cat Bookmark, Cyprus
This is the cutest bookmark I have and it matches our gray cat as well.
Cyprus cats are very popular and friendly, last time I was solo in Cyprus and made many cat friends.

8. Metal Bookmark. Florence
Metal is my favorite material when it comes to souvenirs and customized gifts. This one is not only shiny and beautiful but it is very practical to use.
9. Magnetic Bookmark, Istanbul
Magnetic bookmarks are becoming more common these days but I don’t find them very practical. These bookmarks usually come in smaller sizes than regular bookmarks.
10. Laminated Cardboard Bookmark, Rome
Okay, I am obsessed with Italian bookmarks but these guys are just so creative and I love how art is present in all the details. This bookmark is a simple rectangle made of laminated cardboard showing the famous Creation of Adam painting. The Creation of Adam is part of the Sistine Chapel Ceiling painted by the great artist Michelangelo and it represents the moment when God gave life to Adam.
