What is Matyasana (Fish Posture)
Fish Yoga Posture. ‘Matya’ means fish. This asana is called the fish seat as it looks like a fish in a slightly curved position. Recipe: Stretch your legs over the carpet. Place the feet together on top of the thighs. In doing so let the left foot come to the top. This position is called Padmasana. Lie flat on the floor with your palms at the base of your thighs and your elbows on the floor with your back and head resting on the carpet.
Stay in this position for a while with normal breathing. Exhale and hold the soles of the thighs firmly with the palms of the hands. Bend the head backward at the same time. Bend the back well like a bow and place the center of the head on the floor. After placing the head properly on the floor, take the hands and hold them with both fingers and toes. Close your eyes. In this asana position, inhale slowly and deeply for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then exhale and bring the palms of the hands to the bottom of the thighs, lower the back straight, and bring the body to a sitting position with the arms outstretched.
Dissolve the padmasana and stretch the legs, Fish Yoga Posture, then do the padmasana with the right leg up and repeat the above procedure. Let the duration of switching both legs be equal. This asana must be done after the Sarvangasana. Do this asana for one-third of the time you have been in the chair. That is, if the chair is done for 3 minutes, do the sitting for 1 minute. Change it and both legs and do it for half a minute.
Where to focus:
Focus on the abdomen, chest, neck, back, or breath.
Training Tip:
Those who are not able to sit and do Padmasana while sitting in the initial training can do Padmasana and Padmasana while lying down. Those who are not able to do Padmasana can sit and do Matsyasana near them. Or you can stretch both legs.
Prohibition:
People with heart disease and peptic ulcer should not do this asana. Benefits: This asana is beneficial for all diseases related to the lungs and respiratory tract. Growth of flesh in the throat, cough, and runny nose. The blood is cleansed. Cures neck pain, back pain, hip pain. The spine, neck, and hips gain strength. Makes the lungs stay in good health. Stimulates thyroid, parathyroid, and thymus gland to function well. The conical spine is correct. The speed of hemorrhoids will decrease. Moves the breath remain normal. Relieves sore throat. Increase voice richness. Youth prevails. Increase vitality.
