Is it the sun? is it the fresh air? Maybe it’s a friend? We all miss something or someone. The quarantine took from us the opportunity to see all of that.
But what’s about the people who love being inside like me? Even I miss the outside world.
Maybe it’s a sense of rebellion, cause we don’t like to be forced to stay inside. But maybe it’s something more.
We miss the world, even if we don’t notice it in everyday situations. That same route we take when going to school or work, that’s our everyday adventure. The pandemic took that from us.
Because it’s on that trip to work we see the world, we see other people and their experiences. You look in one direction and what do you see? A person walking their dog. Look in another and you see a couple of old people who do that walk probably since the beginning of time, it’s those experiences that we are missing.
Even if we don’t know it, we are living a new story every time we go out. Having to stay inside, to have to lose the opportunity of living, it’s a tragedy, necessary for our health, but tragic.
No matter your opinion on the quarantine, the truth is that there is a pandemic, the virus is real, and you should take care of yourself and your family. So when this finally ends, you can take them outside and have them look to the world with other eyes, eyes that appreciate what they are looking for.
Let’s take a moment to thank that we are here, and we are healthy. Some people don have that luck.
So, what do you miss from the outside? I miss that long walk to the university and seeing my friends laughing. It’s not the same as a computer.
