A story of education in a developing country
On this day, in the modern education world where the school has become a great learning facility, starting with its huge building, sports facility, high-tech computer room, and don’t forget its attractive program. Bring hope to better education in developing countries. But ironically, we lost parent function in this modern education. Parents nowadays have become too dependent and entrusted in the school to shape their kids. Children nowadays just like a commodity in the showcase. Being compared to each other and unwittingly become show off material by their parents. Standardize with a fixed role even they have their uniqueness. They lose their right to grow safe and happy.
Most parents, especially in a developing country, forget that in school their children only learn about academic stuff, like math, biology, sports and soon. But schools don’t have any responsibility to teach morale, social behavior, or manner. One more shocking thing According to World Bank’s 2018 report, Learning to Realize Education’s Promise, the rise in school enrollment does not mean that all those children are getting a good education. This is where parents need to take apart, but unfortunately, we as parents are helplessly surrounded by indebtedness, endless need, and become money slaves.
When the learning gap between school and parents expanding, that’s when our problems accrue. Our children lost their role models, and their emotions become unstable, highly anxious. This is the time when self-destruction mode turns on. Drugs, laziness, and distractions easily enter their life. What next? Yup, a gloomy future waits in front of them, hard life with all the affliction.
Education in all communities, especially in the developing world, needs to involve parents, students, and teachers and address the needs of the local community first, and then society at large. The subjects taught would then be relevant to learners. It’s not as if children lack the potential to change their world for the better. They are, as it were, waiting for the opportunities to expand their natural ability to create, learn, and problem solve. Parents should take a bigger part to educate their child, finding the best way on how to solve actual problems.
