Are you one of the many people looking for some space? Would you like to be free from clutter and enjoy what’s important?
Firstly, let’s start by explaining what Minimal living is. It does not have to be all about throwing every single one of your materialistic goods out the window. Nevertheless, I believe that you could have all of the things you own right now and still consider yourself a Minimalist. On the other hand, you could try giving up some of the things you don’t longer enjoy or are just using up your space. In the same way, your surroundings are somewhat annoying when filled with unnecessities, so is your mind. Minimal living should be about you having peace with yourself outside of materialistic propaganda.
Before deciding to be skeptical about it and not believe that it is a choice for your lifestyle, don’t assume Minimalism means giving up on all the stuff you love. Turn your perspective around those, again, propaganda believes and start possessing things, rather than letting them possess you! Don’t let your choices be made by media. You’re capable of controlling your lifestyle despite the ads and people promoting stuff to you. Be in the mindset that keeps you happy and satisfied specifically. Above all, all possessions you have are just in your hands, on the contrary to your emotions and happiness.
Moreover, piling up things like phones, clothes, fancy bottles, fancy furniture, and all those things media is saying you just must have to be happy is not going to satisfy your needs for a long period. Nowadays, those things are getting old in a year, some in a couple of months, and some in just a day. Keeping yourself busy chasing those goods distracts you from yourself. Why would you need anything else to make you feel good? You are the only that matters.
IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU NEED TO GIVE UP ON ANYTHING
It doesn’t! Nonetheless, you can keep everything you have, and you could go buy everything you like, every time you want. The thing is you need to change your MINDSET. Your mind is the only one that needs decluttering. Find your way of not thinking about things in a way that you need them. Likewise, think those things need you. Put yourself on a spot, be the one that decides. Sometimes, we live for some materialistic things. And of course, we have to have something, we have to have a house, a car, clothes…But, rather than waking up thinking about the next thing you’re going to need, or want, or obsess about, just simply let your inner needs come first. You go buy all the stuff you want, but don’t let them control you and occupy your mind. Do things for yourself and no one and nothing else.
To sum up, we live in a strange world, where everything became more important than our souls. Indeed, we are to be sold. In conclusion, why should you be giving up on yourself and your peace and space for a temporarily feeling of fulfillment?
Go, enjoy your life with just as little you have, or with everything you got, but let that be despite all those things you just have in your hand!
