The transfer rumours coming out of Emirate stadium is presently in top gear. Several players have been linked, from Mezut Ozil to Emiliano Martinez, Lacazette to Lucas Torreira. The gist has entered overdrive. However, reports on the tabloid this morning has it that a transfer war is brewing. It will be between PSG and Barcelona over an Arsenal defender.
Earlier on, it was on the reports that Arsenal has offered Hector Bellerin to PSG. On their part, the Paris based club was reluctant; probably hanging on to see if the offer price can be reduced. Unfortunately, Barcelona has entered the race to sign the 23-year-old Spanish international. This is not good news for PSG.
With Barcelona in the fray, a bidding war is imminent and Arsenal will be the eventual winner. Spanish outlet Sport, claims that Barcelona has inquired about the availability of the fullback. Recall that Bellerin left the Camp Nou academy to join Arsenal in 2011.
Meanwhile, this throws up an interesting scenario for Arsenal who is in dire need of cash. They are looking to fund Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar transfers from Athletico Madrid and Lyon respectively.
Recall that in 2017 Barcelona tried to sign Bellerin but the full-back opted to stay back at Arsenal. Consequently, the Catalan club will make a bid for the defender in the coming days. Expectedly, Arsenal values their defender at 30 million pounds, and with a bidding battle imminent, that may change.
Meanwhile, to strengthen his team, Mikel has identified his midfield as a priority area. With that in mind, it makes sense why the manager seeks the signature of Aouar and Partey. These are two proven midfielders with their respective clubs, Lyon and Athletico Madrid. Lyons has slammed a %0 million pounds on Aouar while Athletico wants 45 million pounds for their man Partey.
In the coming days. we will see how this impending transfer war plays out. Where will Hector Bellerin pit his tents next season? Barcelona, PSG, or will he stay back at Arsenal?
