Charts of food diets that began in the 1950s, was a step in trying to guide Americans on nutrition, as the country was changing, hopefully. Although the American population was not obese, it was starting to rise unexpectedly and the government was trying to have a nutrition guide. Up until the 80s USDA finally implemented an actual food chart pyramid until 2005 when it disappeared. During that time, people were still eating healthy until the 80s when the population was starting to see obesity on the rise, not going in reverse. The chart served as a guide but its elimination served as a road for the population to understand changing their lifestyle was important. Now the world population was becoming obese and unhealthy in their lifestyles. While junk food was still popular, it’s flavor, attractiveness is inevitably hard to stop eating, cheap, malnourished ,and unfilling. Contrasting to it, the rise of healthy lifestyles, organic foods which Europe already held the torch and led the way decades earlier, America was just now trying to hold. Yet healthy food, the world population had to be taught, was expensive but will be more filling, nourishing, healthier and help one get fit along with proper exercise, staying active vs a sedentary lifestyle. The problem is motivation, the boring look, lack of tastes, flavor, it’s unaffordable for the average person, and choosing which healthy lifestyle one wants to live. There are now many sources of healthy lifestyles to choose from and gives us so many options for a healthy life available.
