The transfer business is on, and clubs are doing their best to outwit others. The business of procuring the services of choice players is currently on top gear. Arsenal and Napoli are in this situation concerning the current speculated transfer of Gabriel Magalhaes.
It is on the tabloids that both Arsenal and Napoli have agreed on a fee with Lille FC. The deal is for a reported 22 million pounds with 6 million in add-ons. Before this morning Arsenal is in pole position to purchase the services of the left-footed Brazilian from Lille.
All those speculations ended this morning as reports have it that Napoli has made the player massive personal terms offer. Consequently, Arsenal could lose out on their top central defensive position target. A position the Gunners desperately need to strengthen.
Contrary to the speculations this morning, the gunners faithfully have come out with a strong message of confidence. In response Arteta has been quoted as saying:
“We should not bring players who need convincing – Arsenal still an attractive option.”
In other reports, Napoli has accepted the 77 million pounds bid from Manchester City for their Center-back Koulibaly. Manchester city is making concerted efforts to strengthen their backline. It becomes clear why the Serie A side is desperate for the signature of the Brazilian defender from Lille.
The Mikel Arteta side undoubtedly is still favorites to sign the Brazilian despite the massive offer. In recent years, the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Lucas Torreira, Kieran Tierney, and Bernd Leno opted to join Arsenal. They did while rejecting the advances of the Italian outfit. It will not be a surprise if Gabriel Magalhaes follows suit in their footsteps.
In the meantime, Gabriel will be making his decision in the coming week; and Sky Sports reports that ‘he is seriously’ considering the Napoli offer. Lille owner has maintained that the choice of the club he joins is entirely his decision.
Who do you think he will eventually sign for, Arsenal or Napoli?
