THE SILENCE THAT ELUDES.
The streets were overwhelmed with the hustle and bustle of busy lads moving from place to place. The streets thrived with people trying to make ends meet. From beggars to businessmen. Consequently, smog-filled the streets. Others were on phones, others yelled also, a few making business proposals as they walked to work. From all walks of life, they have clad in different outfits and on their faces a look of seriousness. However, it is no more.
First, my eyes redirect to the huge building and I decided to look through the window. The secretary at the front desk is overwhelmed by the continuous ringing of the three landlines on the table. The desktop computer continuously flashes with messages and reminders. Exclaimers such as “hurry up”, “can I go in now?” and “wow, she is so slow” erupt. They are all led to the now overwhelmed young lady. The secretary is just a show of the amount of tension in the room but now it is no more.
The café of love attracts me next. A beautiful couple sits at the center of the establishment. Romance is in the air. They engage in chit chat as the gorgeous brunette throws a chuckle here and there. Suddenly the handsome blue-eyed fella goes down on one knee and asks for her hand in marriage. The lass is in tears but says yes. It was an impeccable moment as the café erupted in applause and cheer. The applause and cheer fade away in silence because the silence eludes.
The silence is penetrable. So, it eludes and strikes fear. The streets are not safe. The pandemic has taken over the world and all the joys. No freedom, no joy and, no laughter. Just people with fear and masks on their faces. Will this monster continue to suck out the color in the world? Will it continue to lock us up? I look through the window and indeed the silence has eluded. As a result, it has filled the world.
