The land of Zodi was at conflict with its twelve kingdoms. Each empire wanted to rule the land and was preparing to battle with each other. Before they could attack, a new and powerful kingdom rose and defeated the twelve kingdoms. The army of Ophiuchus ravaged through the land of Zodi and ruled with an iron fist for 500 years. The army was not a legion but rather it is composed of fallen astral warriors that are immortal.
This army could be summoned at will and one person has access to this power. This person is famously known as “The Emperor”. United by their interest to overthrow the new ruler, the twelve kingdoms laid siege to the emperor and his immortal army. It was a long and bloody war the lasted for a millennium and when they had the Emperor cornered, he banished himself to the mortal realm. A sector from the Sagittarius Kingdom named “Arrow” believed that The Emperor was the rightful ruler of Zodi and planned to take him back from the mortal realm.
There were no clouds in sight and the full moon shined brightly on the hole at the top of the cave where the secret temple of the Arrow resides. The disciples of the temple adorned black robes and wore a wooden plain white mask with an arrow in the middle pointing down, towards the chin. They gathered around the middle of the temple where two fighters stood parallel against each other as the High priest sat on his throne located on the second floor. He wore his bright red robes and a wooden plain black mask with a white arrow in the middle pointing towards his head. He stood up and raised both of his hands as he sent a telepathic message to everyone
“We are gathered here today to witness the battle of the final two contenders for the chance to bring back the Emperor and become his apprentice. We asked six representatives from each of the ten clans that make up the Arrow clan to clash in a gauntlet style tournament. The gauntlet has been brutal and after thirty battles it has come to our final two contenders.”
The disciples chanted their incantations to seal the cave in an invisible force field which disrupts outside magic from entering and keeps the temple invisible. The clans from the Arrow sector watched from their respective houses as the Oracle transmits everything she sees directly into their minds.
“On my right side representing the noble Juu clan is Sayaka from the Kanesada family”
Sayaka’s long flowing hair was neatly tied into a bun while she wore a mask akin to the disciples’ but with her clan’s crest printed on her forehead. For armor, she brandished a sleeveless red chest plate matched with two red wooden guards that covered the sides of her thighs and black pants with red shin guards. She wrapped up her forearms with a black cloth and wielded a branch on her right arm as her primary weapon.
.” On my left side representing the fierce Hachi clan is Ayane from the Kimura family”
Ayane didn’t have the same armor as Sayaka did. She was bald and wore a wooden plain red mask with her Clan’s logo on the forehead. Her chest and stomach area were wrapped with white cloth and was paired with blue baggy pants which were separated with a red belt around her waist. Her hands and forearms were adorned with tribal tattoos and wielded nothing but her fist for weapons.
“The battle will continue as long as the ceremonial candle burns. The objective of this match is to destroy your opponent’s mask fully or kill them. The barrier is linked to each opponent’s heartbeats and will instantly fade if one fighter’s heart stops beating. If the candle runs out and there is no clear winner, the council will have to decide based on how damaged the mask is. Let the battle begin.”
As soon as the High Priest declared battle, the ceremonial candle located on the third floor became lit. The disciples and the high priest’s mask fell off to reveal that they were wooden dummies all along and the fight began.
