The light of dawn seeped into my room, I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked to the window. There was a pearly glow in the sky. Another day had dawned, bringing with it new hopes and aspirations.I hold up my breath and released it slowly. Suddenly, my peaceful morning was somehow interrupted by a door knock. I try too ignored it many times but it kept knocking the door repeatedly. I opened the door but found nobody there. My anger pumped up as I thought of my younger brother and my cousins trying to play with me at the very start of the day. I closed the door with a BANG and went to my closet to get ready. I came back all ready for school and again someone knocked on the door. I went out and found nobody again but this time my attention was grabbed by the piece of paper laying on the doormat. I picked it up and it read at7 pm, meet you in the dining room’
With the quick flick of my wrist, I run down and yelled everyone’s names and asking about it the piece of paper but everyone was unaware. I doubted that they were hiding something but I choose to remain quiet because it was useless to ask as they won’t breathe out a single word. My whole day went just like every day home, school, home, playground, and then home again but that day curiosity killed me from inside. I was preoccupied with the thoughts and guesses as to who could it be? In figuring this out, six had struck. I was laying in my bed, holding the piece of paper and my eyes fixed on the clock whereas the time was moving at turtle pace.
It was MYSTERIOUS. No name, nothing, not even a hint. Finally, five minutes were left and I rushed down to the dining room where I found everyone settled on the table for dinner seem like they waited for me but when I sat on the chair I soon realized that they were waiting for someone else too I looked to the empty chair which was empty from like five years and then stared at everyone who was already staring me. Suddenly, I saw a young boy approaching me from the door of the dining room. I stood fixed to the chair as lifeless as a stone statue. He had a slight beard on his face and wearing a beautiful smile he looked so similar to me. His dimples buried deep In his cheeks. I gazed into his eyes and then I realize that No ITS NOT HIM, NO, NOT POSSIBLE. After like five years, he was here in front of me so changed, so different. His sight took my breath away. I was confused for a while but then how can I forget his feature. YES, IT WAS HIM.
Without knowing anything or spoken a word, I hugged him tightly, so warm, so secure it was. My whole face was wet as tears rolled down my face. Through my blurry eyes, I could see him smiling so brightly I opened my mouth but no words came out to describe how much I missed him. MY BROTHER, MY EVERYTHING.
