The 2019/2020 premier league eventually came to an end on 26th July 2020. The COVID 19 pandemic delayed the conclusion of the league earlier in May. Despite the hiatus, the Premier League was not devoid of its drama on the final day of the season.
Liverpool has confirmed the championship earlier in the month as the winners, yet there was late final day drama to determine the top-four position and relegation candidates. Eventually Chelsea and Manchester United joined Liverpool and Mancity in the top four. Norwich, Watford and Bournemouth got relegated.
Below are some of the stand out performers of different categories at the end of the season:-
Highest goal scorer: Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy became the oldest player to win the Premier League Golden Boot after finishing the season with 23 goals. The 33-year-old ended up a goal clear of Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Southampton striker Danny Ings, both on 22.

Golden glove: Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson won the golden glove award. He pipped Burnley’s Nick Pope to the Golden Glove award after recording his 16th clean sheet of the season on the final day of the season. In a 5-0 win against N Pope conceded in Burnley’s 2-1 defeat against Brighton.
Most assist maker of the season: Manchester city’s Kevin De Bruyne came out tops in this category. City beat Norwich 5-0 as De Bruyne slipped Sterling clear to add the third. The Belgian equalled Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a single Premier League season. Following on the chart is another Man City player Trent Alexander-Arnold.
