Health is Wealth is an age-old saying we’ve been listening to since our childhood. Indeed it is. But when this health deteriorates, what do we do?
Get anxious for the start ( Not really works in any case, so I think you should stop that )
Try home remedies (Some are effective)
Consult a Doctor
UNEVEN RATIO OF CONSULTATION TIME
Consulting a Doctor is by far the best, safest, and most reliable option. But the lifestyle habits these days have led to a great number of patients that have outnumbered the doctors. For every 100 patients, a single doctor is consulting them and each patient is equally important. This uneven ratio leads to a decrease in the TIME OF CONSULTATION. It becomes difficult to examine the patient, take down the history of previous illnesses.
GOALS OF CONSULTATION:
1)To find out the allergies of the patient
2) If the prescribed medication suits the patient in all aspects
3)Helping in improving the health
4)Rather not deteriorating it much more.
WHAT IS THE MAJOR DRAWBACK?
To accomplish all these is not a big task, but to do correctly is. Due to this problem, it can lead to miscommunication of the patient with the doctor. Thereby, leading to an improper understanding of the drug regimen. Hence, declining the quality of life of the patient. A few hundred as these may lead to a decline in the average health quality in a community.
Here comes the role of PharmD. Setting aside all the drawbacks and being a mediator between the doctor and the patient. Crucially .assisting in health care.
The key trait being knowledge about drugs and their interactions. It helps in providing an alternative for the medications that sometimes seem unsuitable to the patient.
It also decreases the number of adverse drug reactions and unnecessary drugs as much as possible.
My insights on PharmD:
Being a PharmD made me realize, how important it is to know about certain medicines that are most commonly used in our daily lives. It is not always about learning rare diseases and it’s treatment. Sure they are pretty much interesting. Yet, how useless the knowledge becomes if it doesn’t come handy.
Imagine, when you are suddenly having a cold, or muscle pain, or headache and there”s no availability of a doctor. You just have some medicines which seem random and new to you. What would you do then?
These are basic ailments that we encounter in our day-to-day lives. This is why the basic treatments are something we need to know. The treatment for them and the reasons behind those specific treatments.
The medications are NOT to be taken without the supervision of the concerned medical authorities.
REASON BEHIND THE ARTICLE:
It is to bring to our knowledge the action of the medicine the doctor has prescribed and to be able to use it, in case the doctor fails to mention them. It is just getting to know those medicines a little better and why do we need to use them and how do they improve the ailment.
In further blogs, I’ll bring to you the most commonly used drugs and shedding light on a few characteristics of those drugs, in the simplest possible ways and at the same time will try to be as informative as possible.
This is the start of our journey. Expressing these informative blogs, I hope I shall learn something new too.
Do keep reading and showing your love.
