It means education that takes place on the internet. In easy words, it is known as E-Learning as well. It is just one well known and most important type of distance learning. It has changed the basic idea of learning in a traditional classroom. It has a long history and several types available today. According to research online enrollment continue to grow faster.

In 2003, almost 1.9 million students were studying online. The online enrollment number of students were recorded as 19.8%. In 2004, schools expect several 2.6 million students online. The average growth rate for enrollment was increased to 24.8%.
As we can notice the difference f percentage, we can have an idea that how fast it was increasing. However, 53.6% of the number of schools was agreed that the online system is much more critical than their traditional classroom. The majority of the academic institutions said that it is critical yet equal or somehow superior from face to face traditional system.

How we are going to respond to the invention of new methods of learning. Online learning is just a co-create environment of learning as well as teaching. This technique empowers students as well. It urges students to think better and be open to new methods of learning. It provides students more chances of learning as per their own abilities and capabilities. Online learning provides them chances of learning in better ways and within their own convenient time. As per the use of technology, students were identified as unique individuals. this system helps students to learn on the basis of their own environment and needs.
