Covid19 impact in my country
The issue of the coronavirus has shaken the whole world. This is in such a way that the impression that scientists or academicians can’t comprehend the nitty-gritty is being created.
In the bible, it was written in Luke 21: 11. That is in the last days there shall be pestilence and famine and war. Are we, therefore, facing a bible prophecy?
As a matter of fact, the coronavirus has affected the world. Baffling scientists and the academicians? As society comes to a standstill people are now trying to come to terms with the development. Everybody wants to get back to normalcy in life.
How it’s being handled
In my country Ghana. It seems not to have much impact on society. Atmospherically, not much has been felt. Some people have been infected with the virus but the atmosphere in the country is peaceful. Management of the situation has made everybody go about the activities normally.
Recovery is being recorded. Also, much hope is expressed that a lasting cure would be found to the problem. Government workers have resumed. This was after some weeks of lockdown. They now report to work regularly. Taking into cognizance the laid down protocols of social distance and the use of a face mask.
The Ghana Library Board, The Banks, Telecommunication Companies, and the Postal Services are all operating.
Final year students have resumed back to school. This is to allow them to prepare for their final year examinations. It shows clearly that society can withstand and overcome when they work together in unity.
Political activities are ongoing. The public gathering has been extended to 100 people. This has given churches the go-ahead to be reopened. To worship their God in freedom as they have been doing.
Leadership has been resourceful and donations have tripped into the country. To support the fight against the coronavirus. This sickness has affected the majority in several ways.
With the issue of job cut and the loss of revenue for the masses society still clings to the hope of having a world devoid of the virus.
Society perception of the pandemic
Society doesn’t seem to know the cause of the problem. There are and still will be several rumors and misconceptions to be told about where and how the virus came to exist. From the Ghana Health Service records, it stated that COVID-19 is a virus that is found in animals. That the SARS-Cov was recorded to have been found in cats in China. While the MERS-CoV was also discovered in camels in Arabia.
However, despite everything let’s not be upset because we have hardworking and active medical practitioners in the country. So many suggestions have been raised. On how to get the sickness out of the country and more are being talked about.
Moreover, the factor here is that some of those who reported having the virus was treated with hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. Which was authorized for the treatment of malaria, autoimmune situations, rheumatoid osteoarthritis, and several other ailments? However, they have side effects. They are kidney and liver failure, heart problems, lymph system disorder.
Furthermore, the cost of the treatment which is being borne by the state is highly expensive. The diet given to the patients is fruits and vegetables. These foodstuffs have most of the rich food nutrients which are better than the cooked meat and other fatty foods. These in addition to the medication has helped a lot to recover according to the Ghana Health Service. The recovery rate has been very high. The death rate also low. Out of a current case of about 26125, infected people, 22270 have recovered with 3716 active cases and 139 deaths.
Those who died out of the virus
Also, the records issued out were that those who died out of the virus were having severe complications. These they had from other ailments. That might have escalated their case thereby causing their death. The information is that there is no treatment. Therefore based on a patient’s clinical condition medications are prescribed for the person.
