What is Anime?

Anime or  Japanimation, is an art form drawn by hand that is presented as computer animation originally made in Japan and televised worldwide.it is also referred to as all forms of animated media in Japan. In the year 1917, the first commercial anime was released namely Namakura Gatana, a short comedy based story about a samurai who foolish purchased a dull-edged sword and tries to attack townspeople randomly and they defend themselves, finally knocked him out in the end.

What is Netflix?

Commonly known as Netflix, Inc. is a production company and an American service provider founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph in Scotts Valley, California. The company’s main objective is to give subscription and streaming-based services offering TV shows, movies and including to those produced in – house. It has 182 million subscriptions worldwide and 69 million in the United States. It also streams Anime per 1,000 Yen (10 dollars) a month.


  1. TRIGUN (1995)

A story of a man named Vash Stampede and the two insurance employees, Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson, who always followed him to his travels as he damages the city but he cannot remember it because he has retrograde amnesia. As bounty hunters hunted him because of sixty billion double dollars on his head for the destruction of the city called July, A priest and an excellent gunfighter with an unknown past, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, joins Vash as they travel to planet Gunsmoke. The anime lasts until 26 episodes

  1. MEGALO BOX (2018)

This anime was made for the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Ashita no Joe; a manga written by Asao Takamori and drawn by Tetsuya Chiba.  The story shows a futuristic setting with wealthy, licensed citizens live in a wealthy city while outside it live citizens who were unlicensed in Japan. Megalo Boxing is a futuristic sport similar to boxing but the difference is boxers wear metal gears which make the sport more deadly. Junk Dog fights Yuri, the Champion of the sport. As Junk Dog changes his name to Gearless Joe and fights Yuri to become Megalo Boxing Champion, the story ends with a surprising ending. the anime lasts only 13 short episodes.


  1. KUROKO NO BASUKE (2014)

A basketball anime which was illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki.The story tells about the Seirin High freshmen named  Tetsuya Kuroko and Taiga Kagami, who came from the “Generation of Miracles”  the Seirin National Team alongside with Tetsuya and Taiga survived 3 seasons of basketball action defeating Shutoku and Rakuzan at the Finals of the national tournament. the anime lasts in a total of 75 episodes plus  3 Original Video Animations (OVA); including Kuroko’s Basketball: The Last Game is shown in 2017.



A romantic samurai anime which is also known as  Samurai X; which written and made by Nobuhiro Watsuki. The story goes when a famous assassin “Hitokiri Battousai”  of the Tokugawa Era, whose real name is  Himura Kenshin wanders Japan with a reverse – edged katana. The first episode shows the encounter between Kamiya Kaoru, on which she was attacked by Gohei who was pretending as Hitokiri Battousai. The anime lasts in 95 episodes or 4 seasons in Netflix plus 2 movies such as Kyoto Inferno and The Legend Ends.


It is a cooking comedy anime which was drawn by Shun Saeki and written by  Yūto Tsukuda. It all starts as Soma Yukihira aspires to become a full – fledged chef in his father’s restaurant. But Joichiro, Soma’s Father, got a new job and closes their shop. Soma got accepted at Totsuki Saryo Culinary School; where he met Erina Takiri, the dean’s granddaughter on the first season. The anime lasts in 75 episodes plus 5 OVAs in Japan.


An anime which was written and drawn by  Hideaki Anno  but was created by Gainax and Tatsunoku Production. Its genre is apocalyptic, mecha and a psychological drama. The anime consists of 26 episodes when a boy named Shinji Ikari  fought  “Angels”, supreme beings that are awakened by Dead Sea Scrolls, as an Eva pilot alongside with Asuka Langley Soryu and Rei Ayanami in the Nerv, a special paramilitary force.

  1. ONE PUNCH MAN (2015)

It is written by the artist ONE and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The anime’s story is about Saitama, who is an unassociated hero, defeats his enemies with only one punch. Genos becomes his robotic disciple, who became a Class S hero and teaches Saitama on how to become an associated hero.  24 episodes plus 12 OAVs were aired in Japan between October 5, 2015 to December 1, 2015.

  1. MY HERO ACADEMIA (2016)

Commonly known as “Boku no Hero Academia” in Japanese translation. The plot of this story starts in the world full of people with Quirks or superpowers, lies a Quirk less boy named Izuku Midoriya, who dreams to become like All Might, one of the greatest heroes teaching in U.A. High School. The story develops as Midoriya was trained by All Might by giving him the DNA of his Quirk “One For All” and became one of the most promising hero of U.A. High School. This anime was aired in Japan in the  year 2016 until now with 88 episodes.

  1. DEMON SLAYER (2019)

Kimetsu No Yaiba or Demon Slayer was written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotōge. It shows a young man named Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who was forced to become a demon slayer to avenge his family who was slain by demons. Although Nezuko, his younger sister survived and become a demon. This anime was aired April 6, 2019 until present with 26 episodes.

  1. NARUTO (2002)

 Is one of the most viewed anime series on Netflix with 9 seasons and 220 episodes. Naruto Shippuuden is not yet on Netflix according to internet sources. This anime is written and drawn by Masashi Kishimoto. It starts with  story of ninja boy named  Naruto Uzumaki, who has a Nine – Tailed beast inside his body became an orphan for his parents died  fighting the Nine –Tailed beast named Kurama when he was still a baby. Naruto promised everyone hen will become Hokage or the leader of Konoha village someday.
