Being happy is being healthy. Happiness is something that we cannot buy with money. It is something that can be powerful for it may help to overcome all odds. It is a feeling that no one can control. Being happy is normally expressed by seeing a smile and a clear bright face. It is opposite of frowning. It something that is required to most of the service providers to delight their client, guests or customers. Happiness is something that radiates from inside. It is not only reflected by smile for one can smile without being happy.
In this fast pacing world where values and morality continuously change, customs and traditions are affected too by the lifestyle that we have. Many tend to spend longer working hours and hangouts with friends. There are some that because of the changing environment, they tend to be alone most of the time. Thus, resulting to doing things alone. Example, for most of us, having a meal is just an ordinary part of our lives. Who cares if you eat alone or with someone. However, being alone is not always negative. It has good sides too. But to eat alone, may signal that one is too introvert already. If we see someone eating alone, there is nothing wrong to ask if you can join them. Who knows, it may be an avenue for a new relationship. Here are the five reasons why we encourage not to eat alone:
1. Opening Doors- eating a meal with another person can open doors or avenue to resolve problems or tensions. It can also give you opportunities. A chit chat or conversation while having dinner or lunch may enable you to meet more people and get more opportunities in life.
2. Can make you happy and healthy- A Harvard study shows, that happiness significantly relates to health condition. Those who were identified to be happy in their life at their 50’s were those who reached at least 70 to 80 years old. Relationship to other people contributes a lot to making someone happy. That is why whenever we will eat during our class break, or working break, find time to be with someone. If you are an employer of your own business, treating your employees for a meal even just once a year, will make significant difference in the increase of sales. People will greatly be motivated. It will create a lot of impact to your people. Same with what Se-ri in a movie entitle “Crash Landing on You” did. Eating with your colleague will brighten-up your day. If you are a head of a family, make sure not to forget your child to have breakfast or dinner with you for it make help your child be mentally and emotionally healthy. Several studies show significant relationship of happiness to health. Giving attention to someone may be a simple way to make a person happy.
3. Can release negativity- Negative vibes can be eliminated when we eat with someone. Enjoying the taste of the food and drink eliminates negative thoughts. Avoiding bad words or destructive words are some of the good side of eating with a friend or family member.
4 Can develop creativity- As we eat and chat our ideas are in its full bloom. It is a brainstorming by accident. We generate a lot of ideas that can be worthy for us. Unexpected discoveries can be unveiled because of simple conversation during meal. Remember that a lot of inventors became famous for accidentally inventing something.
5. Can give someone hope- Lastly, being with someone during a meal break may save life. We do not know who among us is suffering from extreme anxiety or problems in life, you may save one from committing suicide once we are able to listen by heart.
