Have you ever thought of how an alcoholic man cope with his addiction?
I met a man whose entire life was indulged with alcoholic drinks. He never seemed to skip a day without alcohol perhaps two to three bottles of hard drink would be enough for him. Early in the morning his hands trembled without a doze of his drink. He walked wobbly and dropped down on the floor after hours of drinking. More often he was unconscious what’s with his surroundings.
He even forgot his own self on behalf of his vice.
He skipped his meal, forget his personal hygiene. Worst, he ceased his self-worth as the pillar of home. He never bothered to think of what his family would have eaten for the day. He never thought if his kids would be sent to school as long as he had a bottle on his hand.
But behind all these, I saw how he struggle just to resist the temptation of alcohol. Despite, he was a man full of smile, care and kindness.
I knew how he wanted to put an end to his suffering but the cast was so tight that he himself couldn’t uncuff it.
